What are YOU reading?

I'm just curious to know what you all are reading these days?

Heather just finished 'Christy' by Catherine Marshall. She's now reading 'TrueFaced'. Jacob's reading 'High School Musical' in Italian. Haven is reading one of the Chronicles. (I just found out she's reading The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe.) I'm reading Pete Greig's 'The Vow'. Next on my list is 'Growing Up Catholic' and then 'TrueFaced'.

How about you?

Any recomendations would be great, I am thinking maybe the chronicles sounds good. Haven and I could have a book club! Love you guys!

Haven is reading one of my faves! I love the Chronicles. I just finished the Kite Runner and so I just started the Whistling Season but now I feel bad that it's been too many books since I read something serious and real. I guess I could stop the current reading and move on to A Severe Mercy.

I just finished reading Frank(ie) Schaeffer's irreverent novel, Portofino. I have purchased his memoir, Crazy for God, in which he outs quite a few of Evangelical's honored members. You might enjoy reading Portofino, a story about a 10-11 year old MK from Switzerland vacationing yearly in Italy.

I have just finished reading "Epicenter" by Joel Rosenberg and next on my stack will be "The Appeal" by John Grisham and "Communicating for a Change" by Andy Stanley. I have a bad habit of having 4-5 books going at once.

The Vow is so amazing. I love it.

Umm...I'm reading:
Total Truth - Nancy Pearcey
Luke - Daryl Bock
Ezekiel - Fredenburg
All the books I'm using for my Luke exegetical due Friday.
And also a side reading, The Christmas Sermons of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Man he was brilliant!

Ruthless Trust: The Ragamuffin's Path to God by Brennan Manning. (The print version, not audio - a change for me.)

That's all.

I can only handle one book at a time.

And I don't have a plan after that...

The social God and the relational self by Stanley Grenz. Jesus for president by Shane Claiborne and Chris Haw. and torture and eucharist by William Cavanaugh.

I would highly recommend them all.

I just finished reading The Passionate Intellect: Incarnational Humanism and the Future of University Education by Norm Klassen & Jens Zimmerman - recommended it to Mr. Lewis, and he took me up on it and bought it! Excellent book!

I also just finished An All-Consuming Century: Why Commercialism Won in Modern America by Gary Cross which I highly recommend and When Genius Failed: The Rise & Fall of Long Term Capital Management - which was spellbinding and I just couldn't put it down - but I have to warn you: its full of a lot of finance & economics jargon, so if you're not familiar it can be challenging at times. I actually understood everything they were talking about, but the book has so much information and so many deep and enlightening moments I had to take a breather and digest what I was reading and go back and re-read things as well... Its THAT good...

I'm reading Wasted Lives: Modernity & its Outcasts by Zygmunt Bauman now. I read a LOT of books...
